Cookies

The desk stores a sign-in session so the next page knows who you are. There is no advertising cookie, no third-party analytics, and no recording of how you move the mouse. Torqfile counts page views with its own code on its own server.
What is set
- A session cookie from the sign-in system. It holds the login token. It lasts until you log out or it expires. Without it, the desk cannot stay signed in.
- A short-lived cookie used to check that a sign-in or sign-up form was submitted by you.
- A cookie that remembers whether you allowed or declined the visitor cookie. It lasts 180 days.
- Only if you choose Allow: a visitor cookie holding a random number, so two visits from the same browser count as one visitor. It lasts one year. It holds no name, email, or account. Decline, or a browser that sends Global Privacy Control, means it is not set and an existing one is removed.
Page counts
Every page view is counted with the page path, the site that linked here, a campaign tag if the link carried one, and whether the device is a phone, tablet, or desktop. The IP address is not stored with the count. Without the visitor cookie the counts cannot be tied to a browser or a person. Counts are deleted after 13 months. You can change the choice with Cookie settings at the foot of any page.
The typefaces are part of the site. The browser does not call an advertising or analytics network to load them. Payment pages are handled by Creem on their own domain, and their cookies apply only there.
If you block them
Blocking cookies means you can read the public pages and you cannot stay signed in. Logging out deletes the session. Clearing site data for this host removes the rest.
